We always tell, or are always told, to put our best foot forward. As a child I was never allowed to ride on a plane wearing jeans, my mom didn’t feel they looked presentable and “you never know who you’ll meetâ€. These words rang in my ears as I grew up and ventured into the jungle of performing arts. People I would meet at a restaurant where I waitressed would turn up behind the casting table at my next audition or someone I met at a party would be the dance captain of the next show I was in. It’s a vicious truth that once again has presented itself.

My experience with Mia Michaels
I, like most dancers, am fairly obsessed with Fox’s “So You Think You Can Danceâ€. Perhaps it’s the fact that “Lost†is off the air and there is only so much of “Big Brother 8†one can take, but I truly looked forward to Wednesday nights and religiously settled in for 2 hours of dance saturation. Part of this obsession came from the remarkable choreography that sometimes, and I stress sometimes, emerged from the show, my favorite being that of Mia Michaels.
