Dieter Riesle

Dieter Riesle was born in Germany and graduated from the John Cranko Ballet Academy in Stuttgart, Germany. He danced as a principal ballet dancer nationally as well as internationally in such ballets as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Bayadere, Le Corsaire, Cinderella and numerous contemporary ballets. The Cincinnati Ballet, Garden State Ballet (New Jersey), Hamburg Ballet, Frankfurt Ballet are among the ballet companies Mr. Riesle danced for. After his ballet career Mr. Riesle appeared in numerous in musicals; his favorite part is the Emcee in the musical Cabaret.

He has been teaching extensively in New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut, Japan, Germany and Denmark. He is currently a master-teacher on the faculty of the Ballet School of Stamford in Connecticut.

Mr. Riesle works as an actor in New York City and is the founder of Metro Clowns, a theater company, which fosters the art of classical European clowning. Metro Clowns will premiere its newest creation Another Cat and Another Moon in The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) in August, 2004.
He also founded and artistically directed the Connecticut based ballet company Attitudes in Motion.
