George Griggs

George Griggs is a composer and lyricist. George is the lead singer and songwriter for the original rock band “Shobiz”. He has toured as an opening act with Aerosmith, Twisted Sister, Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, Rick Derringer, The Motels, Talking Heads, Joan Jett, and The Ramones, among many others. He is a member of ASCAP, The Songwriters Guild of America, and BMI Musical Theater Workshop. George was most recently produced by the Infinity Repertory Company for his score “MOD: A Musical Pop-toon!” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August of 2007. Before that the show enjoyed performances in NYC @ 59E69 Theaters during the East to Edinburgh Festival in July of 2007. The show was selected for the ASCAP Music Theatre Workshop and his rock “radio play”, Transmitter Man, was released in the spring of 2007. Some of his previous commissions are Hearts Are Wild with the City Theater in Pittsburgh, PA, and Heat Lightning at Kirk Theater in NYC.
