Mary Long

Mary started her dance training at age fifteen, with Jennifer Dell, Carrie Tron
and Scottie Fernandez. After graduating from Byram Hills High School, she went on
to DeSales University, where she majored in Dance and Mathematics. At DeSales,
she studied under Tim Cowart, Kristin Fieseler, Gretchen McLaine, and Trinette
Singleton. She had the opportunity to perform pieces choreographed by Doug
Varone, Kristin Fieseler, Tara Madsen, and other wonderful choreographers as part
of the DeSales University Dance Ensemble and in the Young Choreographers Series.

Scottie Fernandez is Assistant Classical Director and Director of Meta Works Modern Company at the Pulse. She has been teaching and choreographing in the tri-state area for the past six years. She has a B.F.A. in Dance Education from Goucher College, Baltimore, Maryland. She has extensive training in ballet, Pointe, modern, jazz, and education for young children (creative movement).

Scottie's other teaching experiences includes choreography and improvisational classes as well as ballet classes for physically and mentally handicapped children.

Geoffrey Doig-Marx is the Artistic Director and Founder of "The Mantis Project" Dance Company, and Creator/Artistic Director of "The Elan Awards" (an annual showcase that honors a choreographer who has changed the face of dance and showcases the work of fourteen additional choreographers).
