Nova Jazz
Going into their 16th year nova jazz from the Pulse Performing Arts Studio is an innovative, high-energy, dance performance company comprised of young adults. Highly trained and handpicked, the members of nova jazz are proficient in styles including theatre dance, jazz, ballet, contemporary and tap. As leaders in their schools and community, nova jazz members are required to maintain a disciplined schedule of technique classes, as well as uphold high standards of academic achievement and community service.
Directed by Jennifer Dell, nova jazz members have participated in performances benefiting, Dancers Responding to Aids, Will Dance For Food and Breast Cancer Awareness as well as community nursing home and assisted living facilities. Most recently Nova Jazz traveled to Orlando, Florida to perform at Universal Studios and Walt Disney World.
Tap Orchestra
Tap Orchestra, The Pulse Performing Arts Studio’s elite tap dancing company, not only performs locally but also is an award winning competition group.
Nova Jazz II
Nova Jazz II, the offspring of its advanced counterpart nova jazz, is an intermediate level jazz performance company. Centered around it’s sense of style as well as technique, this performance troupe has performed at such venues as Hersheypark in Pennsylvania, New York City’s Battery Park, and Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. It’s 18 members are mentors and leaders at The Pulse and study varying genres of dance such as Tap, Theatre Dance, Modern, and Isadora Duncan technique.
Nova Jazz Juniors
Nova Jazz Juniors is comprised of young and talented dancers ranging from age 7-10. These dancers begin training at a heightened level at young age, grooming them to move up to Nova 2 and Nova in the future. Nova Juniors perform in various community based venues, and in formal recitals as well.
